How to choose
Choosing a two-seater sofa that actually fits
Measure the wall, not just the sofa
A two-seater typically runs from about 115cm to 180cm wide, and the difference matters. Mark the footprint with tape and check you still have a walkway of around 60cm in front. In a flat, a sofa that is 10cm narrower can be the difference between a room that feels open and one that feels packed.
Seat depth decides how it feels
A shallower seat sits you upright and is easier to get out of; a deeper seat suits lounging and curling your legs up. Compare the listed seat depth with the sofa you sit on now. If you like to sprawl, look for one of the oversized loveseats here; if you want something neat for a hallway or office, pick one of the slimmer ones.
Fabric first, colour second
Velvet looks rich and soft, corduroy is warm and textured, linen-look is airy, and leather-look wipes clean. Pick the finish that suits how you live, then choose the colour. Our care guide on every product page explains how to look after each one.
Plan the delivery route
Compact sofas are easier to get through doors, but check the hallway and stair turns all the same. Many of these arrive compressed or flat-packed, which makes the route in easier than for a built sofa.
