How to choose
How to choose a three-seater sofa
Width and how many people it really seats
Most three-seaters measure about 175cm to 230cm across. A seat count is a guide, not a promise: three adults fit, but comfortably only if the cushions are wide enough. Look at the listed width and the seat depth rather than the seat count alone.
Structure matters more than the cover
A rigid frame and foam that springs back are what make a sofa last. Look for descriptions of a wood frame, spring support and foam filling, which every product page lists where the listing states it.
Think about who sits on it
Families with children and pets benefit from smooth, wipe-clean upholstery such as faux leather, or textured fabrics like corduroy that hide marks. Quieter households can go for velvet or lighter colours.
Storage ottomans and extras
Some three-seaters include a storage ottoman or USB charging ports. They are practical rather than essential, so decide whether you would use them before paying for them.
