SOFA SCENE Amalfi 2 Seater Sofa: proper seating in a smaller footprint

About this 2 seater sofas

SOFA SCENE Amalfi 2 Seater Sofa in Heritage Brown

Smaller rooms deserve a sofa that fits them properly. The SOFA SCENE Amalfi 2 Seater Sofa is a two-seater loveseat-style piece for flats, bedrooms, offices and entrance halls. It is upholstered in faux leather in heritage brown. Faux leather gives the smart look of a leather sofa with a surface that wipes clean in seconds. It has no pile to trap crumbs or pet hair, which makes it a practical choice for busy households.

A wooden frame sits under the upholstery, giving the structure the rigidity a sofa needs to last. Listed seat depth is 55cm and seat height 45cm, which means a balanced seat that works for both sitting up and relaxing back. The listing gives a maximum load of 250kg, so it can take regular family use.

Practical extras listed include scatter cushions or pillows, so remotes, phones, drinks and blankets all have somewhere to go.

Day to day, a two-seater is the sofa you actually end up sitting on: it takes two people, or one person with a laptop and a blanket, and it leaves the rest of the room free for a coffee table, a desk or a play area. A warm tone like heritage brown gives a room a grounded, welcoming feel and ages gracefully, because everyday wear shows less on mid-to-dark tones.

It is listed as 2 seater. There is no assembly to do: unpack it and place it. Measure the room and, just as importantly, the hallway, stairs and doorways it has to get through before you order.

Photographs show the sofa under studio or showroom lighting, and screens vary, so allow for the colour to look slightly different in your own room. It is a smart fit for students, couples and anyone downsizing who wants proper seating without losing the floor.

Care guide

How to care for your heritage brown faux leather two-seater sofa

A sofa is a big purchase, so a little regular care goes a long way. These steps are written for the faux leather on this sofa; always check the care label on the sofa itself first and test any cleaner on a hidden patch.

1. Wipe weeklyGo over the surface with a soft, slightly damp microfibre cloth to remove dust and skin oils, then dry it with a clean cloth.
2. Use mild soap onlyFor marks, use a drop of mild, non-detergent soap in water. Avoid bleach, alcohol, nail-polish remover and abrasive pads, which can strip or crack the coating.
3. Keep it away from heatRadiators, fires and strong direct sunlight dry out and crack coated surfaces. Leave a gap between the sofa and any heat source.
4. Plump and rotateGive the seat and back cushions a good plump once a week, and where cushions are loose swap their positions now and then so wear spreads evenly.
5. Keep it away from heat and strong sunRadiators, fires and a window that gets all-day sun fade and dry out upholstery. A gap from heat sources and a curtain or blind at the brightest hours keeps the colour true for longer.
6. Know when to call a professionalIf the sofa is badly stained or the label says professional cleaning only, an upholstery cleaner will know what is safe for the fabric. It costs far less than replacing the sofa, and always test any product on a hidden area first.
