Fulasofia 266cm L-Shaped Boneless Corduroy Sofa in Grey

The Fulasofia 266cm L-Shaped Boneless Corduroy Sofa is a modular sofa, built from separate sections that join together into a larger shape and can be arranged to suit the room. It is upholstered in corduroy in grey. Corduroy has a ribbed pile that looks warm and textured, hides everyday marks better than a smooth weave and feels soft against bare arms. It is one of the most popular living-room upholstery choices in the UK right now.

Foam padding does the work in the seat and back, keeping the cushions plump and supportive. Springs underneath the padding add support and stop the seat feeling like a block of foam. It is compressed for delivery, so the cushions need time to expand fully after unpacking. Allow a day or two, and up to 72 hours for the deepest foam sections.

Because the sections are separate, you can place them as an L-shape, push them together into one wide sofa, or split them across the room.

Day to day, the sections let you change the room without buying anything new: split them for a party, push them together for a film night, or reconfigure them when you move house. Grey is a flexible, calm colour that works with warm woods, cool whites and bolder accent cushions alike.

Width is listed at 266cm. It is listed as 4 seater. It is ready to use without assembly. As a compressed item it arrives vacuum-packed, so unpack it somewhere you have room, let it expand, and give the cushions a pat to even them out. Tape its footprint on the floor, then measure the front door, hallway and any stairs so there are no surprises on delivery day.

Photographs show the sofa under studio or showroom lighting, and screens vary, so allow for the colour to look slightly different in your own room. It works well for large families, house shares and anyone who likes to sprawl, because the depth and the freedom to rearrange are the whole point.

Care guide

How to care for your grey corduroy modular sofa

A sofa is a big purchase, so a little regular care goes a long way. These steps are written for the corduroy on this sofa; always check the care label on the sofa itself first and test any cleaner on a hidden patch.

1. Vacuum with the ribsOnce a week, run a soft upholstery brush attachment along the length of the ribs rather than across them. This lifts dust and crumbs out of the grooves without flattening the pile.
2. Blot spills, never rubPress a clean, dry cloth onto a spill straight away to lift it. Rubbing drives liquid down into the ribs and can leave a shiny, flattened patch.
3. Revive a flattened pileWhere the ribs have been crushed by sitting, go over the area with a soft clothes brush, working in the direction of the pile, to stand it back up.
4. Check the connectionsEvery month or so, push the sections firmly together and check any connectors, so the sofa stays one tidy shape rather than slowly drifting apart.
5. Let it recover after unpackingCompressed foam needs time to reach full shape. Leave the sofa in a well-aired room for the period given in the listing, pat the cushions, and give it a few days of normal use before judging how it sits.
6. Know when to call a professionalIf the sofa is badly stained or the label says professional cleaning only, an upholstery cleaner will know what is safe for the fabric. It costs far less than replacing the sofa, and always test any product on a hidden area first.
